New user discouraged by linksys WPC54G ver. 4 card

I have installed Fedora 7 and have it working successfully and it's amazing for my work, but I cannot get my internet connection going. I am using linksys WPC54G notebook adapter. I've been pursuing answers for a couple of days now, but I am too new at this to even begin to understand.
Any help is appreciated. I think I need ndis wrapper ??
Please - is this how to make it work -

I go to applications, then system tools, then terminal then type in su
then my password

from here, I am lost - I have downloaded ndiswrapper - it is on a memory stick - how do I get it on to the linux computer, and what do I type in to make the linux computer use the ndis wrapper?

Sorry, I probably sound stupid - I'm really not, but I just don't understand...
