Fedora 8 on Powerbook G4

Hello friends!

Do anyone know if Fedora 8 will have the driver for the wireless card on the PB G4? Thanks!

Do you know what model of the wireless adapter you have in that laptop? That would give us a better idea.

I don't know the exact model. All apple listed is a Built-in 54-Mbps AirPort Extreme; built-in Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. The like below is the spec for my PB.

Thanks for the reply!!!

The only OS I've ever gotten the airport extreme to work with (besides OS X) is ubuntu. Ever since the bcm43xx drivers were updated its never worked. If you look on yellow dog's website though, they claim to have it working using the OS X drivers. I'm going try this with fedora 8 to see if it works.

Vader,

Please let me know if you get it working. I been thinking switching over to ubuntu too, but I'm not very good with Debian base OS. On ubuntu, did you have to do anything to get wirless working or the OS come with the driver?

I am also running a Powerbook G4 and would like to get the wireless working on it. I have a Broadcom bcm4306 wireless card. I've been working on it for hours and still haven't gotten it to work. I've been trying to work with bcm43xx-fwcutter, but whenever I try to use modprobe I get a "FATAL: Module bcm43xx not found" message.

Any suggestions?

Try using this script here to install the driver for airport.
