Just want to say that your script makes a nice and clean install! No surprises like unwanted apps being installed without you knowing it, and no unwanted KDE stuff invading the Gnome desktop. Thanks a lot for that!! Love the backgrounds! A BIG thanks!

Hi Dangermouse,
So I completely removed ndiswrapper, checked the blacklist file (no entries for bcm43xx), removed the old script, rebooted, and then went through your link line by line. There were no errors at any line, and even after rebooting again my card still doesn't show up under iwconfig. I can't imagine what the problem is, since everything from the link seems to be working.
By the way, I just want to thank you for helping me through this, especially with your quick replies.
EDIT: Hi again Dangermouse,
Just want to say that I blew away my existing installation and reinstalled FC9, and everything works great. Thanks for all your help

Hi Dangermouse,
To be honest, I did a LOT of searching and used a lot of guides. I don't remember which one was the last one that I used, but I'm sure trying ndiswrapper a bunch of times had something to do with it. I even tried it with a couple of different drivers. Most of the time it was just using ndiswrapper to install the driver and then modprobing it. One time I added an alias for ndiswrapper in the /etc/modprobe.conf file, but I made sure that was gone. There was also nothing in the blacklist file.
Sorry but I just tried retracing my steps and it looks like I clicked literally every link I could find. Posting here was the last resort. I have no idea what I did differently other than just using ndiswrapper and modprobe.

Youtube, adobe/java, do not appear to be working correctly. I ran the script and got no errors. Everything else works great and I really appreciate the effort you put into this. any help would be greatly appreciated.
FYI I am using F9 freshly installed with FF3.

yeah, I guess that might help a little huh? here's what it says on the screen, I tried to do a screenshot but didn't see how to add it here.:
Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.
I checked Firefox's preferences and javascript is enabled and I rebooted the machine as suggested at the end of your script.

I ran that with no change, I assume you meant to run that as my normal user object. What is that gnash plugin that's installed and does it cause conflicts?

It looked like gnash-plugin is not installed, as it was after available plugins, and not in installed, anyway
to remove it you would do
Quote:
su
yum -y remove gnash-plugin
|
the only other thing i can think of is to re run the script, and watch for errors, or if you want to do manually then follow these instuctions below, which is the same as the script, but will be easier to see whats happening
http://dnmouse.webs.com/flashplugin.html
http://dnmouse.webs.com/java.html
also are you using firefox?
