Now working on getting it to connect. For some reason is not getting a link, even after turning off the security on my router. Will keep playing with it and see. If anyone has any advice will love to hear it.
Hi Craulian it will be difficult to say, because it sounds like you have been tinkering with all sorts of things etc,
on previous attempts to get it working, If its easy for you to do and not to much hassle then it might be worth starting again and do a reinstall maybe.

BTW Danger mouse I have a spec file for making a webilder RPm but it seems to loop into infinity but I can forward it to you to see if you can modify it to make a working RPM. I did the reasearch and found out the names of the dependicies for F8 and put them in the spec file hope you can have better luck

DM Thank you.

Well thats what I decided to do last night. Fresh start with new installation of Fedora 8. Installed all updates and ran your script before doing anything else. when I booted I saw that everything was the same. But when you click on the LAN connection icon, you get the option and the status bar for all of the wireless networks in range. Clicked on one of connections, switched to Wireless and BANG!! sweetness.

Thank you this is the 1st message I write on my new wireless Fedora 8 laptop. Linux user long time but coming back after a long brake. Giving up windows again. I see lots of more help files and support out there for Linux.

Thank you again DM.

Not to mention not having to pay $35 for support even if it does not get resolved like M$$ does

You may want to add an option to the main menu to delete the /temp folder since it was created by this script. That way those that want to can get rid of the installer files

Hi Andy, i did think about that, but decided not to at the time, because it would mean a entry on every option, because not everyone uses the exit command to exit the script, there is a potential problem if the script was downloading a file, and suddenly stopped (power loss etc),etc, etc, etc, however it is something i will think about soon,(this weekend) when i add Splashy /bootsplash (hopefully)to the script, however testing is going slow, swapping graphics card and reinstalling etc takes a while, i want to test it on ati/nvidia/intel different kernels etc etc.

Thanks Dangermouse.

Your script has saved me hours of trouble! There seems to be a bit of a problem with RealPlayerGold10 (or something). It's almost as if it has disappeared off the real.com site . Oh well, that's the least of my worries - everything else worked just fine!

Thanks again.

Yes i know what you mean, its been like that for some time now, heres another link to realplayer, im afraid its abit slow but works, if you have installed frostwire or limewire you dont need to install anything else (dependencies)for realplayer.
