On my HP DV2620, I get a crazy clicking noise in the hard drive like every 30 seconds. I found on some Ubuntu forum that it's something to do with the Power Management and the read/write head parking.
I issue the command /sbin/hdparm -B /dev/sda and it doesn't do it anymore, but everytime I boot, i have to reissue it just like /sbin/ifconfig wlan0 up.
Does anyone know how to fix this, or how to run the command at boot?
On the ubuntu forum they had guys saying that their hard disk went bad in a year because of this
Any help is really appreciated, thanks.
