network manager pptp plugin

I have been searching around and cannot find how to install the network manager pptp plugin. I have enabled some extra repositories but still no network-manager-pptp plugin. Does anybody have any idea how to get this package?

i thought it was an ubuntu-only thing, and ubuntu don't roll things back upstream.

i did read somewhere that pptp plugins for network manager were downloadable but this was all for NM6.5, I too am looking for pptp support in F8, as well as setting a fixed ip in NM both of which don't seem to work. wireless is working but flaky at best.

Why wouldn't Ubuntu roll back such features upstream? That is really too bad since they are using them in their distro and doing lots of goods things with it, I mean NM in ubuntu is indeed MUCH better then in fedora 7/8.

Hi,

the network-manager-pptp is an ubuntu package which is located (for 7.10) at:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/gutsy/net...k-manager-pptp

the source is there too, but i do not know if this would work since ubuntu 7.10 uses networkmanager 6.x whereas F8 uses 7.x.

If this would work in fedora that would be great, that and the inability to set a fixed IP really suck in Fedoras networkmanager.
