Flash videos stop after 2 seconds.
Hi guys i have a problem with flash on FC8
Ive installed from Adobe, and reinstalled again and again.
However whenever i watch a video on a site like google or youtube or any of them.
It plays for 2 seconds that stops.
It continues to buffer and if i click somewhere else in the video it will play that bit for 2 seconds and stop.
Whats going on? Any ideas?
This ONLY happens with fedoracore 8

I had the same problem using Fedora 8. The solution for me was to remove the alsa's pulseaudio plugin.
yum remove alsa-plugins-pulseaudio
Your results may vary..

FWIW I too have this issue. I'm running Fedora 8, and have tried everything I can think of withot resolution. However, it appears that other users on the same PC are free from the problem! I tried cleaning out the hidden folders in my home folder, bt again no fix.
Anymore ideas?

YouTube video hang on 2.6.23
I ran into a similar problem (video starts, then stalls, then goes white) after upgrading my kernel from 2.6.20 to 2.6.23.12. Fortunately I didn't remove the old kernel, so if I want to watch youtube, I can boot under 2.6.20.
I found some discussion on the web about video drivers having been moved to user-space in 2.6.23, and I wonder if the rearchitecture is related ...

solved this.
The problem (at least with my installation) was the missing sound connection. So first check if the system is able to play sound at all. If the flash plugin cannot stream sound, the buffer internal is soon full and playback (video too) simply stops.
you may also have to
yum install libflashsupport also-oss
