VNC Broken

I setup VNC on my home server a while ago using the guide from Firewing, and it was working fine up to last week. Today I added a 500GB hard drive to the system, and when I rebooted and tried to login remotely via VNC, all I get is a black screen and the X cursor. I've tried logging in with my Mac, an XP box, and even the desktop on the server, all with the same results. I've been Googling and trying everything I can find but nothing seems to work. I think it has to be a setting somewhere that I am missing, because it seems to connect, it just won't forward the GUI to me. Any ideas?
