Unable to install Fedora 8

I've been trying to install Red Hat Fedora 8 on an MS Virtual PC 2007 virtual machine. I allocated 256Mb RAM (as per recommendations of version 6).

1. Upon booting I got an error: Found PM-Timer Bug on the chipset. Due to workarounds for a bug, this clock source is slow. Consider trying other clock resources. Processor is an AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core Processor. Motherboard model: M61SME-S2-F. I flashed the BIOS to the latest available version but the error persisted.

2. Trying again, using the text mode, I followed the prompts to begin the installation. I selected the option to 'Test' the media and the test PASSED. After which I selected 'Continue' and I simply got a message reading 'Error' with an OK button.

Any ideas, please?

3. When I tried to install using the graphical option, funny characters were displayed on screen, which tells me that my graphic card (NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS) requires manual installation. I was told I could use yum for this, are any step-by-step instructions available? Is this graphic card or a generic one supported, pls?

Any ideas, please?
