dmraid ICH9R support

I am trying the same.

ASUS Motherboard with Intel P35 and ICH9R.
I have 4 hard disks and 2 raid sets via Intel Raid Matrix:
One RAID5 with 4 disks.
One RAID0 with 4 disks.

Using dmraid 1.0.0rc13 I can see only the RAID0 array. The RAID5 is not visible.

Searching in the little dmraid documentation I can not find any references to ICH9R RAID5 support, only
"ATARAID types supported: Intel Software RAID"

Any information about RAID5 support in dmraid?

Why is necessary the kernel patch?

Regards.
