Fedora 8 hard drive install using Fedora 6 boot cd

Hi All,

I was trying to install Fedora 8 on my Dell Inspiron laptop. It has 250GB SATA hard drive.
I downloaded FC8 dvd and copied it to a FAT partition. Then I booted the system with
my FC6 installation cd. When it asked the method, I choose Hard Drive and gave it
the partition name (/dev/sda5). But it was not able to find any fedora image file.
1st I thought that its may be because of SATA hard drive, but when I tried to install
other storage device setup(it browses for drivers) was able to find the .iso file.

Did anyone else faced the same problem?

thanks
-saurabh

You can't mix install media from different Fedora releases. You must use a F8 boot disk to install F8.
