Question Full screen playback on TV

I've been searching the forum but maybe I haven't been searching with the proper phrase or keywords. I have an eGeForce MX4000 (Nvidia chipset) in my computer. I've gotten the TV-out functionality to work (somewhat). The best way to make it work is to simply use the clone mode. It doesn't work the best but, I have just been dealing with it.

I noticed in Totem ("Movie Player") that there was a grayed out option for "TV-out in fullscreen by Nvidia (NTSC)" and another for "TV-out in fullscreen by Nvidia (PAL)." I'd really like to be able to have videos playback full screen on my television. Is there any way I can make these options selectable? Maybe a configuration file I could edit?

How are you sending the TVout signal?

If it is SVHS then you have to set the resolution to 800X600 on most cards with most TVs (older tube TVs especially). It is a scaling issue. The tv takes the incoming signal and does what it thinks is best. If you send it 1280X1024 it may decide to wrap it with black bars to fit its standard 800X600. If you give it a signal that is in its native format (800x600) it is usually happy.

It's working now

I got it to working. Not with Totem player. It doesn't do it automatically. I got it so that whenever I am playing a video I can slide that application over to the television and just launch it in full screen. That works for me. I'm using the TwinView configuration mode with the TV set to "right of." I've tried this in the past and couldn't get it to work. Maybe I was doing something wrong. Anyways, YAY!
