network card speed problem

well lemme explain my problem
i study in a college and to us internet is provided by the college server through lan
the speed of lan is 10 mbps but my hub allows the speed of 100mbps so the fedora core 8 connects it at 100mbps and therefore im not able to brouse the net in fedora
like in windows is there any manual way to change the port speed to 10mbps

Hello cool_ank

A mixture of 10mbs and 100mbs won't cause any problem in respect of Network Connections. Your 100mbs equipment will just operate at a slower speed.

If you are unable to get connected you will have to look for another reason than that.
