xine-lib = 1.1.7 is needed by package xine-lib-moles

Hello, well if you have seen t his topic then you also know my pain. I cannot update my system nor installl other multi media programs because of this problem. How can I resolve this issue? when I try and install amarok and other multi media programs, I get this same error. I have tried to uninstall the xine moles program and then re-installling all other programs but this only results in one program saying the same t hing. Here is an example: yum install amarok

---> Package amarok.i386 0:1.4.8-1.fc7 set to be updated

Error: Missing Dependency: xine-lib = 1.1.7 is needed by package xine-lib-moles

I'm using fedora 7 x86_64 version I love this OS and it is one of the best I've seen since fc 1

If anyone can help I'd appreciate it very much.

Here's how I fixed the same issue:

1) remove xine-lib and all its dependancies

2) go get xine-lib-1.1.7 from here
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat.../field%5B%5D/2

3) install the xine-lib you got from pbone.net above (rpm -ihv)

4) yum update whatever you're looking to update

5) yum install xine-lib-moles.i386

6) yum install amarok-1.4.8-1.fc7.i386

7) yum install kdemultimedia-3.5.8-8.fc7.i386 kaffeine-0.8.4-1.fc7.i386 kdemultimedia-extras-3.5.8-8.fc7.i386

any subsequent yum update will fail until the xine-lib-moles pkg that's compatable with xine-lib-1.1.10 is available but you can always remove xine-lib & xine-lib-moles & update then re-install like shown above.

Slow mirror repository updates. Just wait for the mirrors to update and that should fix your issue. It's just that the actual file (xine-lib.x86_64 0:1.1.10-1.fc7) is not available in the repository you were accessing, Remember that the list for updating comes from Fedora, but the actual files come from a mirror.

It appears you have enabled freshrpms disable it and enable livna repository.
