Disappearing sound card

Hello,

Last monday my soundcard worked marvelously. This morning when I booted back up, my soundcard has disappeared from any configurtation panel. I have made absolutely no hardware or software changes. The card is an intel 82801 in aThinkpad t23. The modem portion of the card works fine. Please help

Fixed

fixed with modprobe snd-intel8x0

Is there any reason why the kernel would spontaneously decide to stop loading modules? As stated earlier, no changes were made to the system...

maybe gremlins?
