Just finished updating Fedora 8

After the updates finished GRUB now displays Fedora (2.6.23.14-115.fc8) and Fedora (2.6.23.1-42.fc8). My two questions are can I delete the older kernel version from the grub.conf file, and also is this wasting any disk space?

Hello:
By default there are always 2 kernels installed. The exception being the initial install.
This is controlled by an entry in your /etc/yum.conf
installonly_limit=2
It's a very good idea to have at least 2 kernels installed, just in case the newest one does not work for you, therefore you can boot to the earlier one.
The next kernel update will remove the oldest one and so on.

The kernels do not take up much space, all things considered, so no it is not wasting disk space.

After I have installed latest Fedora update yesterday, my madwifi driver is not working. If I switch to previous version, everything is fine. Is it real to save my working image so it won't be deleted after the next update?
P.S.: If I delete madwifi driver from the newest image it will be deleted from the old?
Thanks!

Hello:
BloodMan
I believe you have to install the matching kmod-madwifi module for your new kernel for things to work.
Each module is compiled against a specific kernel, therefore, they are kernel specific and unless they match the kernel they will not work.
