OSS supports xfi, can fc8?

I just had seen that XFI became playback supported through the OSS sound system, a little over a week ago, I tried installing the rpm, and it was no go, but I figured, I would wait a week and see if anybody had reported success on it, but not its a week later, and not a mention of it even existing? I know most people have moved on and everything, but I figured amongst fellow geeky interest someone would have popped one in and tried it? lol j/k.

but really, is this something people have working, or is it just by some freak occurance that nobody on these forums have read any news releases by any major linux news site in a week. I figured at least a "fu Creative" ranting would ensue.

The package does install fine, but it doesnt make the xfi available as a output device, there are no instructions to follow, nor any information whatsoever on how to make this work, so some insight into this would be much appreciated.
Thanks alot!

it shows my card but when I select oss in the sound configuration it shows no output device, even tho sound card is detected in detection applet, how did you install it (what packages) and what kind of things did you need to do to set it up?

Ok, small update, I do have sound through audaicious when the output is configured, but how can you get OSS properly configured for gnome? because the rest of the system behaves like my sound card isnt setup right and wont give me a choice for output mixer. I like that I can use it in an audio player, it would be nice to have system control over it.

Anybody have any ideas? I would like to have my oss sound output seen system wide, but everything ive tried has had no effect, I get sound in certain apps, but not all applications will give you the sort of controls you need to provide sound to them. Thanks alot.
