Having fun with the beta
So, I've been putzing with the fedora 9 beta.
Having a wonderful experience with bugzilla, and never going there again, has anyone else had problems trying to switch desktops not working? Can't get it to reboot unless I type reboot in the terminal.
Mostly, it works and I'm looking forward to this release. The new kde takes some getting used to but like any good baptist, you can learn a new song if you have to.

ok, shoot me for not finding that thread.
I don't see a solution for the reboot issue.

The beta's tons better than the Alpha and not nearly as good as the Final will be. Even so, expect that there will still be isolated issues for at least a month after Final is released. But, count on the fact that when Fedora 11's about to be released, there will be a lot of wailing and moaning about giving up good ol' stable-as-a-rock Fedora 9.
On the Bugzilla issue, you have to remember that there are MANY bugs out there, some more critical than others, and developers are spread a little thin. Strangely, even though not every one gets complete attention, somehow most everything ends up being pretty close to decent by the time Final comes along. Of course, if you're relating to the "provide the results of gzmodfivlemxz in the fsnmvrlm/smshx/ffmmf" then you're about at my level of wha' da devil do they want? 'cause nobody speaks 'normal' up there.

Not really moaning all that much, I wouldn't even notice the switchdesk thingy in most cases as I use KDE at home and gnome at work. That new kde look threw me off so much, I thought I'd see how the gnome is. Guess I'll keep plugging away at it....

Unfortunately, I still can't it to boot on my laptop. I haven't bothered with redoing it with the liveCD, which, judging from the Alpha, will work.
As for bugzila, yes, it's horribly slow and they're aware of it. Hopefully, Something Will Be Done. (TM). I tried to grab the snapshot of rawhide, but the torrent wouldn't download at any reasonable speed. All in all however, (I've been running rawhide for awhile now) once they work out the kinks, it looks rather nice.
