Backups

Hi,
I am looking for a simple way that sets Fedora to routinely backup a few directories (with sub-directories) to an external.
I came across Fwbackup.
Just looking for suggestions on what to use, and how others might do it.
Has anyone used Fwbackup?

Shell script + Fcron OR any other cron
