Hey all,
I recently installed Fedora 8 on my laptop to try it out. I'm experiencing what I can best describe as "inconsistent" internet connection, meaning that sometimes websites take much longer to load than under Windows Vista (also installed on same laptop) while at other times the connection speeds are pretty much the same. For example, I'll go to
http://www.google.com in Firefox, and Firefox displays the "Looking up http://www.google.com..." for a couple minutes before it finally gets to the "Transferring data..." stage. I've noticed that once it reaches "Transferring data..." it loads fairly fast. I also tried downloading files and for some weird reason download speeds seem to be unaffected, they are identical to what I get under Windows. Another weird thing I noticed is that sometimes when I get to a website, if I browse different parts of the same website it loads normally. I have no idea what could be causing this, so any help is appreciated!
If it helps my wireless card is Intel PRO/3934 ABG
