I'm still playing with Rawhide, rather than stopping at F9, and tonight, ran an upgrade. It upgraded my kernel to 2.6.25.
The 2.6.25 kernel doesn't play nicely with the two patched snapshots that Madwifi has available to work with the AR5007EG on 32 bit systems.
Madwifi does have a patch on a ticket that will enable Madwifi to build on these kernels. However, *that* patch causes these two older snapshots r2756 which works for me and r3something which works for christianvi, to fail when being built.
I've added comments to the two tickets on Madwifi, however, the good news is that on the (in)famouse ticket 1679 they've stated that they hope to soon merge the fix for the 5007 into the main release, meaning that soon we'll all be able to use the Livna version.
I've put this information on my page, but thought that I should warn those who have the card to be careful (on all distros) when upgrading the kernel. You should probably, at least for the moment, avoid upgrading to kernel 2.6.25.
As I know many folks mention my page when this card comes up, I thought I should post this information quickly. I haven't yet tried a workaround, such as first patching the latest madwifi then trying the patch that is used in the patched snapshot. That might work, but it's too late tonight for me to play with it.
Note to mods
Although this is Rawhide where I've had this issue, I'm not sure how Fedora is handling the kernel. Also, this will affect any distro that chooses to upgrade their own packages to 2.6.25. Therefore, I deliberately put it in hardware. As always, I bow to your wishes

, but I do feel it's the best place for it, despite it being something only affected by the latest kernels.
(If you do feel that I'm incorrect, please feel free to delete the entire note to moderators part so that we don't get into some silly discussion with people saying, no, it should stay in hardware.)
