Wireless Driver for wlan0 and Network settings

Hi,
I have installed Fedora 9 Kernel 2.6.25.3-18.fc9.i686.PAE on a Dell Latitude D830.

I have the following issues:
(1) I can't install the driver for the wireless card Dell 1390 Mini card. I Have spent hours and apparently ndiswrapper is what I need.
But I am not able to install that.
(a) tgz would not work because of config problems. Make fails.
(b) rpm would not work because of failed dependencies
(3) I try the add/remove software from applications menu but that only finds the packages.
When I press Install it says that I am offline. There is no network connection. I am not!!
I am sending this email through a wired connection on the very computer I want to install the
wireless connection.

Also the Network button on the bottom task bar does not seem to know that I have a live network connection. I have put up the network connection by issuing ifup eth0.

Would a kind soul help? Does anyone think there is a bug with the add/remove software button?
Where are its config files?

I will report the answers, please help.

Thanks.

Best Wishes, Sujitsid

Apparently that is a rebranded broadcom card. And you don't need ndiswrapper for broadcom.

If you don't get a network link via NetworkManager some software thinks you are offline. You can do a
Code:
yum update
in a terminal to update instead.
