The Internet not working properly on Fedora 9, tried everything

Hi, I'm a absolute novice to Linux and Fedora, so please bear with me.

On my home server, I replaced Windows Server 2008 with Fedora 9, because I was getting fed up with using Windows as a server altogether, and Fedora suited my needs. Everything seemed to work through the installation of Fedora, even the Internet, it downloaded some stuff I needed to install in Anaconda. But, Fedora itself is being a real pain with regards to the Internet. Everything should be set up correctly, as I CAN ping my other computers on the network (which brings me to another problem which I'll try to fix later), I can nslookup a few sites such as google.com and those sites I can nslookup I can access if I type in their IP in there, but the domain name doesn't work. One site that I searched in Google (can't remember name) even worked, so I guess a couple of domain names work. I have searched on Google, I have asked on IRC, I have tried everything. But it doesn't seem to work.

Hope you can help with my problem.

Are you using the DNS server per your ISP? When I signed up for my ISP, they gave me two DNS servers. Assuming those should be enter in your router.

...well, that actually worked. Thanks alot =) On my Windows computers, all I have to do for the DNS is type in the IP address of the router and it'll work. =P

I do that for all my boxes, either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. Just the router has the two DNS entries.

hi GCFreak . Just a word of advice ,take it or leave it .
but running fedora on a server ( even a home one) isn't really the best choice.
Go for it if you want, but be prepared to have a bunch of downtime . Do to the fact that fedora 9 is so cutting edge that there will be problems
now staying in the "fedora family " CentOS would be a better choice.
