I think his LVM is preventing him from installing PCLOS.

I'd make sure I posted here: http://www.pclinuxos.com/index.php?o..._smf&Itemid=58 While we've got a great bunch of linux specialists, the PCLOS guys should be able to help you with a PCLinuxOS question.

I have four SCSI hard drives in my desktop. Adaptec SCSI card and I run Fedora 8.
Set-up is
sda1=/boot
sda2, sdb1, sdc1,sdd1=RAID 0
RAID 0=> LVM fs
1. /
2.<swap>
3./usr
4./home
it works fine in Fedora 5, 6, 7, 8.
Does not work with PCLinuxOS.

Use vmware-server and install PCLinuxOS, or you planned to make it multi-boot OSes?

No. I have PCLinuxOS on my laptop and I'd like to install it on my desktop witch has 4 SCSI hard drives with RAID set-up. LVM seems easy to set-up but it doesn't work.

Well, I suggest you try other distros on your desktop. The newer the distribution the better as far as SCSI and Raid is concerned. See if you can get it working using Centos 5.2, Fedora 9, Ubuntu 8.04.1 or OpenSuse11
Other than that, can you explain the need for LVM on top of RAID ? Why EXT3 isn't good enough ?

Any Fedora, SUSE and Mandriva works. PCLinuxOS and Ubuntu does not..
