How to force Fedora to lock screen on suspend?

Hi,
I'm running Fedora 9 32-bit on a thinkpad T61p. Under gnome everything works out of the box, but I do not like Gnome and want to use KDE 4. The problem I have is that on KD4 the screen does not lock before suspending on when closing the lid, regardless having checked that option on Kpowersave. No matter what I do I cannot get the screen to lock. The only way I can do it is by locking it manually before suspend, then after resume, yes, the screen is locked. But there must be a better way to do this, l just don't know how to do it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

KDE4 is well, a little edgy. This may be a bug or non-completed feature.

How did you look it in gnome? I like gnome, I just want to lock the keyboard & screen while I"m at lunch.
