Unable to install Fedora 9 via VMware on Windows Vista 64bit Host

I downloaded the Fedora 9 x86_64.iso and attempted to install the Kernel via VMware. I have a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 T5750. When I try to start the virtual machine I initially get this message.

"VMware Workstation has measured your CPU speed to be 1434 MHz, but Windows reports that it is 2000 MHz. This may mean that your computer has a power-saving feature that varies the processor speed. As a result, the clock in your virtual machine may run too fast or too slow.

For a workaround, please refer to the VMware knowledge base article at:
http://www.vmware.com/info?id=97"

I did exactly what the workaround said to do and created the config.ini file and that didnt help a thing...in fact I still get the same error message.

On top of this when I attempt to install the Kernel it tells me "This Kernel requires an x86_64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.

From what Ive read this error seems to be given when you have a 32 bit processor but I know I have a 64 bit cause I run Vista 64 bit as my host OS. Can anyone help me with determining exactly why I am getting this message and what I can do to resolve it?

Hello:
Pretty sure this is not a Fedora Issue, have you tried searching
