Hello Dangermouse,
Afaik, tomorrow I'll have a stricken Dell 1501 laptop, for data recovery and OS reinstall. It has BCM on both Etherenet and Wireless, so I'll be able to test it and post feedback. (I'm on GMT +2 right now so hopefully by tomorrow night I'll have some results )

Here's what I have so far:
1.First and rather disturbing is the fact that
Code:
rpm -Uvh http://dnmouse.webs.com/repo/b43-1-6.noarch.rpm
fails to download anything, therefore wget must be used
2. The package cannot be installed with rpm. It has a dependency that might (and for most cases surely isn't) installed already: b43-fwcutter
3. The package is not signed
So, to sum things up, for the moment, I guess you should edit the instructions on your site like this
Code:
su -
wget http://dnmouse.webs.com/repo/b43-1-6.noarch.rpm
yum localinstall b43-1-6.noarch.rpm --nogpgcheck
This is done on a freshly F7 to F9 preupgraded Dell 1501, If you want, I can erase the 32 bit install and try again with a new F9 x86_64.
When activating wlan-assistant, it fails to connect to my WPA2 network, and I don't understand why.
Here's my generated output attached.
Hope this helps.

Hi thanks for trying it
it was not meant to be installed with rpm -Uvh http://dnmouse.webs.com/repo/b43-1-6.noarch.rpm
i only set up a link with right click save as, because it was only meant to be downloaded for machines with no connection, so im not to bothered about that, as regards it needing
b43-fwcutter, this is part of a default or above installation in f9 + (incl live), however i
did not take into account somebody who has upgraded from a lower version of
fedora, but theres not alot i can do for that.
As for you not being able to connect, the firmware will only work properly with the newer
b43-fwcutter in f9 + , if you update b43-fwcutter first then recut the firmware it should
solve any con probs you have.
Thanks for giving me this info i shall change somethings like being able to
rpm -Uvh http://dnmouse.org/autorpms/b43-1-6.noarch.rpm because i dont
see the need to go through all the other usual stuff when the offline installer can do it
in one go
Thanks Dave

I don't know what you mean by that. I already have the latest packages in F9. I tried
Code:
wget http://mirror2.openwrt.org/sources/broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5.tar.bz2
tar xjf broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5.tar.bz2
cd broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5/driver
b43-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware wl_apsta_mimo.o
but it didn't change anything. The error remained the same. Perhaps you could tell me what I did wrong.
And now, the good news:
I erased another partition, installed F9 x86_64, got the rpm, unplugged the ethernet, installed the rpm, connected the wirelless and right now I'm getting the updates. So a big thank you is due. As soon as I get another Broadcom laptop I'll keep testing this package. I'll also recommend it on the forums whenever needed, so if you could resolve the rpm downloading issue that would be great.
A final suggestion, if I may:
Following the latest developments in Fedora's infrastructure, I think it could be an important step towards our security if you would sign your packages.
P.S. Don't you think this could go to Guides and how-to's forum ?

Im glad it worked for you, what i meant earlier was that there is/was 2 versions of b43-fwcutter and they both needed different firmware, and that you might of had the older b43, but if you just updated then you wouldnt of, so just ignore me
signing the rpms! its something i will get onto this week its already on the schedule of a big todo list, but not tonight, its time for a good old homebrew beer

I have two laptops that have used your install script already and work great.
What I've done to test the offline rpm was installed F9 LiveCD to a 2GB usb stick them booted it
from the laptop then installed the b43-1-6.noarch.rpm then rebooted.
NetworkManager showed my AP and connected after entering the pass phrase. Here's card output after running /sbin/lspci :

Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM94311MCG wlan mini-PCI (rev 01)

EDIT: I'd be interested in one for F10 to try with athe F10 alpha LiveUSB.
