problem to play mp3 files

hi friends,
I am newbie for unix and linux.
i have installed fedora 9 on my home pc.
after successful installation, i am unable to play mp3 files.
i have tried many options but at last i am hopeless.
so please tell me step by step process to play mp3 or video files.

plz plz plz help me.

problem to play mp3 files in fedora 9

hi friends,
I am newbie for unix and linux.

If the above doesnt work... use the following command

# means run as root

Code:
$ su -
# yum install gstreamer-plugins-bad gstreamer-plugins-ugly gstreamer-ffmpeg
that and if you want to play lots of video formats then I recommend installing VLC Media Player also.

hi friends.

i have tried above option using yum like
$ su -
# yum install gstreamer-plugins-bad gstreamer-plugins-ugly gstreamer-ffmpeg

i got a error like

Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit
Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mir...ug-9&arch=i386 error was
[Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (-3, 'Temporary failure in name resolution')>
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora-debuginfo. Please verify its path and try again

when i tried option using site
http://easylife.dulinux.com/
i got a error like
"Internal system error"

when i tried again using rpm files
i got a error that some libraries(i donot have names) are needed with this rpm.


at last i am hopeless.

plz plz help me.
