I tested Fedora 10 Beta KDE Live CD and I did

Code:
modprobe iwlagn
than I noticed in /var/log/messages that I have to install firmware iwl5000.
I installed it and than i did again modprobe iwlagn and modprobe rfkill

finally the card showed up in iwconfig as wlan0

I did
Code:
ifconfig wlan0 up
iwlist wlan0 scan
No networks were found, although there are some around..

I send two bug reports:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=464935 - kernel fc9
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=465440 - pciutils

Anyone got the same card? What are your experiences?

Thank you developers!

wow...i admire you. using a beta kernel in F9....

i just spent 2 days trying to get it running in CentOS 5.2, to no avail. Now thinking i may have to wait until F10 is released before i can even have a RH distro running on this notebook. I am almost 100% opposed to using other distros...so i may just be stuck with Visa running a VM in the time being :S

Good Luck!!!
