Thinkpad W500 issues moving from ubuntu

Hello,
I have got a thinkpad W500 recently and it seems its a headache to get linux on it, i run ubuntu on my x300 and was doing fine for thins i needed linux for

some people recommended i move to fedora since it has more newly released drivers etc.. great thing it got my new ATI video card! but it didnt get the wireless nor the ethercard card or the WWAN card card...

I was wondering how to get them working ?

these are the cards:
Wireless Adapter Intel 5100; 11a/b/g/n wireless, Mini PCIe adapter, Intel WiFi Link 5100, 1x2 (Shirley Peak)
WWAN Adapter Wireless WAN, Ericcson chipset, Mini PCIe adapter and SIM, GPRS/WCDMA/HSPA, GPS
Ethernet Intel 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection (Boazman), PHY, PCIe x

Thanks

You need to enter bios. Disable switchable graphics and select discrete graphics card under config-> display. This works for me.

That's nice, however since the thread's 3 years old and the poster hasn't been online since 2008, I doubt if he'll care. Thread closed.
