Intel X3100?

I've been running Fedora 7, and I've delayed upgrading because an important program Maple 11 that I use doesn't appear to run on Fedora 8. I need a new laptop, but since it will be a secondary machine, I don't need anything terribly fancy. I do want to use it to find out what the problem with Maple is before I upgrade my main machine.

The Dell laptops I've looked at all seem to have Intel X3100 built in graphics. Web searching suggests that some people have had problems with Fedora and the Intel X3100, but they seem to have to do with gaming which I don't do.

Can anyone tell me whether I will have trouble with such a laptop and Fedora 8 or beyond?

Addendum

It appears that Dell sells a laptop using the Intel X3100 with Ubuntu installed. It seems reasonable that if it works with Ubuntu, then I can also install Fedora 8 or 9. Am I missing something?

Hi i have a dell inspirion 1520 with the X3100, has always worked perfectly for me in f9 (f8 cant say never used)i would even go to say that it is better than nvidia and ati etc.. because desktop effects etc work straight away, no installing extra drivers etc..
As for gaming, i dont do it in fedora so i cant say about that, one thing may be worth mentioning is that videos played slow especially with deskop effects enabled, but this was due to memory, once i upgraded from 1gig to 2gig mem, problem solved.
