Question Videos drag in full screen

Hi everyone, I have recently installed fedora 9 sulphur in my machine (hp dx2300). The system works beautifully except for one small glitch. When I try to play videos in fullscreen using any player e.g mplayer, gnome, totem, the video drags as if playing in slow motion. At normal size (small) they play OK. When I disable the desktop effects, the videos play normally even in fullscreen. A buddy of mine suggested something about my system using the CPU not the GPU for processing the videos. I dont know what that means. I doubt it could be my video card since videos play fine in Windows and Ubuntu. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

sounds like lack of memory to me, if you have desktop effects enabled try disabling it, and see if its better.

Unhappy videos drag in full screen

I highly doubt that it could be a memory issue Danger Mouse since I have 1.5 gig of RAM (OR does fedora need more memory for playing videos than other operating systems??). As I said earlier, the videos play fine when the desktop effects are disabled but after I re-enabled them the problem is still there. Still hoping for some solution!!
