Cannot boot FC2 in xp+FC2 dual system

Hi, I just got another question. Yesterday I installed two systems (xp and FC2), but due to some problems (refer to my previous thread, but not important anyway), I reinstalled these two again. I deleted the partition under XP installation and re-create it. When I followed the same old instruction to install these two together, I got no option when starting up. The computer just automatically boot XP. I tried the same installation again and the problem is still there. Could somebody help figure out why? Another thing, when I installed the FC2 after rebuilt the partition table, it still asked me whether I want to update or repair the old system or install a fresh copy. Does that mean some info is still there in the hard drive? Thanks a lot.

1. do you have a third party software such as partition commander or patition magic?
i would use software to low level format the hd and start fresh if you hava a maxtor hd you can use the hd tool to do a quick low level format...btw the tools work with any brand of hd's!

2. are you using same hd for both xp and fc2?
if you are using a separate hd for both system check you bios and jumper setting for primary for fc2 and slave for xp

3. during installation you were prompted where to install the bootloader (grub)?
it should be installed in the MBR of primary hd

4.do you remember where you installed it? this one you have to answer yourself
