Newbie question - Files and printer sharing

OK, I have read various other postings on this subject but I am still confused.

Here is what I want to do. My main desktop computer is running WindowsXP as well as my daughters laptop is running WindowsXP. My printer is not supported in linux as best as I can tell (Lexmark X1240).

I wold like to make it so MY laptop running Fedora10 & Gnome can access their computers files as well as they access mine. Also would like to set up the printer to work from my laptop thru the home network so I can print stuff.

As mentioned I am new to linux so please be patient...

There are many thread about sharing with Windows.
Basic Windows share can be connected to via the Gnome Menu
Places, Connect to Server
windows shared printer can be setup like anyother print by selecting the correct drop down connection type and entering
servername/sharedprtrname and the other info as the print gui progresses.
Gnome Menu - System, Admin, Printing.

To share your computer with Windows requires you to setup and run the samba server.
Do searches, see How-tos or get the documentation from www.samba.org

man smbclient
explains the cli for what the Connect to Server does.
