connected to router but not internet

hello everyone. i'm using f10 64 bit on a compaq presario sr5113wm. here's my problem. i'm connecting to a wireless router via a belkin usb wireless device and dhcp. network manager shows that i am connected to the network, i have an ip address and the dns gateway is listed properly as is the subnet mask. there are other computers connected wirelessly to the net through this router with no problems. the problem is that this computer cannot access anything on the other side of the router. i've been able to get onto the other computers on the network with ssh and i get a ping when i ping myself, the router and even www.google.com. this is weird cause nothing can access the net but i still get a ping from an outside server.

i've tried using a direct lan line to the router with the same results.
i've also tried an ubuntu live cd with the same results.

i'm at a dead end so any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
