Question Need help with mozilla on FC8

Hi,

I was running FC8 linux and using mozilla, suddenly it stopped working saying the error " Another instnace of mozilla is running close it etc...."I checked at some of the forums , I found that in ~/.mozilla/<>.default dir , I have to get rid of the lock and parentlock files.I did that , but it worked some times and sometimes not.

The I decided to de-install and re-install the firefox , by yum remove firefox,it gave me an error saying DNS resolution error.

Then I tried installing sea-monkey , it worked fine but again stopped after sometiem without any reason,I am confused how to debug thsi, looks I need to reinstall the full OS, I dont have the installation CD.

I have connected ny laptop to a vonage modem.

I would appreciate if any one can help on this .

Thanks,
Kar

first you might want to install fedora 10 or 9
Fedora 8 is past it's "End of Life" there is no more support for 8 ( no updates ,not even security ones)

might be a dead or offline mirror
or the dns error may be your isp .Have you installed OpenDNS ,if not that might fix it .
