Question full screen flash content...

hi,

i have installed f10 and used the autoten script posted by dangermouse to get all my multimedia working and it does except that i can find no way to set the flash video viewports to full screen. can i do this with f10?

an example would be to go to www.crackle.com and watch the trailers for their content. while it is playing if you mouse over the video viewport you will see the file pointer and the volume controller but no full screen option button. it is the same on my macbook running os x.

but on my ubuntu 8.10 install i have an option to play the content full screen. can this be added to f10?

i don't feel so bad because os x gives no way to do this either but it sure is nice to have the option because you don't have to look at the adverts that are plastered all over the rest of the page.

please advise.

What trailers? I see a yellow yield sign, a hyperlink to e-mail, and a hyperlink to log in. How about an example we can all test??

I saw that too! Must've refreshed before he finished posting.

Well, zander, you have a point: that link took out my firefox browser. Killed it dead. Try a spatula. File a bug report.

EDIT: Twice. That's enough for me. Obviously a bug in flash player. Or firefox.

okay that is good news! i just have to figure out how to add that capability to my install. i used the autoten script by danger mouse to set the multimedia up.

pro'lly i should make a list of the items i check to run the install. some of the stuff i can't run and might cause my install to stop functioning like the nvida stuff. so let me see how to do that. i guess i will run the script again and this time keep a record of the items i check. i will post the list of items i check here and perhaps you guys can tell me what i am missing.

Just tried Youtube and get fullscreen there too. I usually install stuff manually, but I'm sure that doesn't make a difference.

hello again,

i fixed the link to www.crackle.com at the top. it is a pretty good site if you are into gonzo humor.

back on the farm...

the full screen option does work if you actually select a show to watch at crackle besides the trailers.

the full screen option works at youtube too.

but at that link for france24 i don't get the control bar at the bottom of the viewport like i expect.

you guys say that you did. i do too on ubuntu 8.10 but i will double check after i post this.

here is what i installed using autoten by dangermouse...

Flash-plugin, Dvd-playback, Java 6u7, Gnome art next gen, Cinelerra +Kino, Realplayer, Google Earth, Google Picasa, Webilder, Backgrounds and Qbittorrent.

i rebooted and got the results above.

my install was from the main f10 dvd, then i ran the update manager and installed all the updates then i ran autoten.

i have no reason to doubt that it works for y'all if you say so.

thanks for any advice.

Red face

hi,

there IS a control bar at the bottom of the viewport in the link to france24 with a fullscreen option on my install of ubuntu 8.10.

and there is not a control bar at the bottom of the viewport at the link to france24 on my install of f10 on an identical t42 thinkpad.

anyway i don't know what the solution is...

perhaps it will start to work with an update or something.

thanks for any suggestions.
