Update Error

I get the following when I try to update:

rpm = 4.6.0-0.rc1.7 is needed by package rpm-libs-4.6.0-0.rc1.7.x86_64
glibc-common = 2.9-2 is needed by package glibc-2.9-2.x86_64 : Success - empty transaction

Anyone know a solution?

Thanks

try to remove rpm-libs and glibc (yum remove ....) and then update and reinstall rpm-libs and glibc if you need them

That's pretty bad advice.. removing rpm means you won't be able to install anything
afterwards without resorting to rescue mode. Removing glibc will hose your system,
also necessitating a rescue disk.

You need to provide more information on what all you are upgrading, where from, etc.

Try:
Code:
su -
yum clean all
rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db*
rpm --rebuilddb
yum update

or you can find the missing package if thats the problem and then try updating again. I use this site to find missing packages: http://rpm.pbone.net
