Mozilla Firefox 64-bit trademark issue?

from the Mozilla Firefox support forum...
Code:
Where are you getting Firefox 64-bit builds from? I haven't seen any from Mozilla.

If you are using a 3rd party build or 'Community build' {they aren't allowed to use official Firefox branding and icons - they can call it Minefield or Shiretoko and use those icon packs - pre-release code names for the Trunk/Branch builds}, you need to find the support forum for that specific build. This forum is for "official" Firefox builds.

AFAIK, 64-bit Flash builds for Linux have only become available recently, an alpha version was released 12.16.08 .
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html
now... my Firefox is what came with my x86_64 distro, plus any updates, and shows from Help->About Mozilla Firefox...
Code:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009020410 Fedora/3.0.6-1.fc10 Firefox/3.0.6
and it comes complete with links to the Mozilla webpages

do we have a trademark problem or the Mozilla site admin have it wrong?

and, geepers, all I wanted was to find out if the flash plug-in crash under 64-nit had been fixed yet!
(I see there is a sticky here, should have saved myself the trouble and come here first, but that was certainly the less obvious place to look for a branded software product with its own dedicated support forum)

Hello:
I'm sure it's just me ... but I'm confused?
All you have to do is get the source which is freely available and build it to have a 64bit version? That has been the case for a long long time now.
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.or.../3.0.6/source/ The responder from the mozilla site has one of the better crack pipes out there.

The build from Fedora includes the option
ac_add_options --enable-official-branding
So, [as a non-lawyer ] no you do not have an issue regarding trademark. Please don't take my word for it and file a bug on https://bugzilla.redhat.com/ to confirm.
You might want to read through here : http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforu...675&entercat=y for your crash issue.

Seve

You could have just googled (or even searched the redhat bugzilla) and found this:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=133895

"Fedora Project has prior written permission to use the official trademarks."

End of story.
