changing text size out of X

Hi all,

I just installed FC2 on my T30 and was wondering how I can change the text size when not in X? When I ctl-alt-f1 out of X, it's hard to get anything accomplished because the text size is huge. Is there a way to make is smaller?

Thanks.

It's an IBM T30 laptop and the video card is configured correctly.

It's not that the text is really huge, it's just larger than on my Slackware default install. I would just like to make it smaller.

Thanks.

you mean console font? you must run linux with different console display driver. for LCD/notebook display vesa will be fine - it can do framebuffer at 1024x768 with graphics... try adding vga=792 (for more modes consult vesafb documentation in kernel) to kernel options in bootlader...

Yes, that's it, console font. For the life of me, I couldn't remember what it was called. Thanks!

I tried vga=792 and it seems to have made it a little smaller. Not much, but it does look smaller. I'll do a little research to see if I can find an entry that will make it even smaller.

Thanks for the help!
