Restore previous version of an RPM

Is there a relatively easy way to restore the "previous" version of an RPM in FC10?

The last set of updates killed my GUI and I'd very much like to get back to whatever I had before I got updated to:

xorg-x11-server-common-1.5.3-13.fc10.i386
xorg-x11-drv-evdev-2,1.3-1.fc10.i386
xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.5.3-13.fc10.i386

Thanks for any help you can give.

Well, yes, but... I saw no problems whatsoever after those updates, so I would think that there's some other issue(s) - and some missing info, like: what video drivers and hardware ?

But if you want, install (if not already) yum-allowdowngrade and use the '--allow-downgrade' switch:
Code:
Description :
This plugin adds a --allow-downgrade flag to yum to make it possible to
manually downgrade packages to specific versions.
You can forcibly remove then re-install, but that is dangerous and may result in a failure of X11.

The computer is a stock Dell Inspiron 530 so it has an nVidia GeForce 8300 GS. The previous driver virtually had to have been a vanilla Fedora installed flavor of some sort given how slowly it was running (it ran much faster under Ubuntu once the proprietary drivers were installed).

I'll certainly give that a shot. Thanks for the suggestion.

Would I do that by using "rpm -e" and feeding it the names of the RPMs involved? My X11 is already deader than a doornail (Xorg -configure doesn't create a working display), so at this point it wouldn't be much of a loss.

Yeah, if X11 is dead, just:
sudo rpm -ev --nodeps <packagename1> <packagename2> ...

The '--nodeps' switch will prevent a mass-purge of all X11 due to dependency issues.

Then (re)install the old stuff - you will almost certainly have to manually fetch those old packages from Koji or rpm.pbone.net, since they are no longer in the Fedora repos.

By default: open-source driver "nv" (package: xorg-x11-drv-nv).

Restoring to the previous versions of the RPMs (in my case I used "rpm -Uvh --oldpackage") fixed things. Thanks for your help, V! It was much appreciated.
