Wireless network card being detected but not being allowed to activate

I'm new to Linux so please bear with me.

I have downloaded and installed Fedora 10.

Now I am setting up the network and in the 'network configuration' it finds the wireless device (ralink) in the 'hardware' section of the configuration - I set this to eth0 (it originally set itself to wan0 and I still had the same problems, now it doesn't give me the option to put it back to wan0).
Now I goto the devices tab and try to set up the device with eth0 - which it seems to find.

But when I goto activate the device it tells me that eth0 cannot be found
At this stage I admit I am stuck.

Not sure as I haven't used the card. It's best if you could put the model number of the card in there, as it's quite possibly a driver issue. Then, another CM or myself can change the thread title to put the card number in the subject line. Especially on weekends, you're far more likely to have your thread viewed by someone familiar with it--putting in wireless without a card description is a good way to have busy people simply glance at the subject line and move on to the next thread.

The card comes up as 'ralink RT2561/RT61 802.11q PCI'.

How do I know if the device drivers are loaded? I assumed that because the card was shown in the network configuration that it was working.
