Detach from Remote X via SSH?

The title may not be too clear, and I don't know if this is possible.

Using screen you can run a CLI program, detach, and the continue later. Is it possible to do this with SSH and remote X?

i.e. Can I load 'ssh somehost -X' run gedit, then detach gedit from this PC, and resume it from another?

Not an expert, but I think you need to use VNC to be able to do this. If you work it out do let me know!

Thanks for the reply, I have a ahem MS-RDP service running on it - simply for ease of connectivity when I'm out and about on other PCs, which does do the job, but when at home I'd prefer it as "it's own application", rather than a RDP window etc. Just a personal preference/annoyance, I'll dig about some more and see if I can find anything.
