Yea downloaded it. Test drove the livecd for about an hour. It's pretty much their 2007 version with a few enhancements and new artwork. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great distro to cut your teeth on if you're new to *nix world. But FC10 has won me over hehe

Hmmmm.

It'd be nice if I could get better than 17kbs download speeds. And I didn't get that good until I started using a Japanese mirror. <....>

The Gnome version's pretty decent and I've installed it on a partition. Even though I'd selected to install grub on /dev/hda3, it decided to overwrite the mbr. Not a major problem and my other distros were recognized (except for Vector) and set to boot with 'configfile' entries, rather than specific kernels. Sweet! No updates if there's a kernel change! It also configured my graphics card for 3D automatically. Otherwise, nothing too major involved. Dark scheme, but identical to previous versions - no new graphics. All in all, a decent distro; no real problems so far, but nothing major either.

Hmmm.

That dark theme in the last two was a little grating. Kinda put me off a little.

I finally ended up stopping this download. I think dialup would go faster, and it tends to stop completely after six or seven minutes. Not exactly a user friendly experience this time through.

Once in a while I'll get a rotten server. But this one has been a PITA for a while now. Probably weather related issues. Youtube has been unusable all day too.

Which avatar, Greg? I've changed it twice in the last five minutes. <....>

Meh. If I really want to get the new PCLOS, I'll probably just order it. It's only six bucks!

the one you had on just before you changed to the F10 one

from what the others have said there isnt much of a major difference with the 2009.1 release so is it worth spending the $6

Not sure if it was a mis-configuration, but the last gnome version had 'no updates' in synaptic for at least 6 months and I'd believed it was simply an abandoned effort. Personally, I think PCLOS is worth the $6.00 since it's history is a top-notch distro and it's worth seeing how the Ripper Gang's version holds up to the standard.

In my case, I had one failed download, but started again fresh the next day with the default site for the Gnome release and had a speedy download.
