Most websites work, some dont :-(
Hi
I have a strange problem with my FC2 box.
Most websites work perfectly, and I can ftp, ssh, mail and so on without any problems at all.
BUT....a few sites does NOT work.
Two examples:
www.regnecentralen.dk and www.cubehosting.dk
They share the same IP, but it seems like it is ALL IPs owned/operated by cube-hosting that I can t access for some reason.
I also cant ssh/ffp/smtp email them - but ping and traceroute works with NO problems at all to the sites !!
It works when I boot the same computer in windows. And also works from a different computer with a RH7x linux that I have on my LAN here.
None of the domains that I have problems with are in /etc/hosts so that is NOT the problem.
Also someone told me to check if /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_ecn had a value of 1, and change that to 0.
Unfortunately it was already set to 0.
Does anyone have an idea about what to do ?
It is VERY important for me to be able to access thoose particular sites.
Regards
Kasper

If you can't email, ssh and ftp, it is not the browser or software related. It might be a DNS problem so see /etc/resolv.conf file and add there you DNS server if there is none or a wrong one. For the ip (or adress) for you DNS server you can ask your provider.
But try this : http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/darin...es/005753.html just in case it is ipv6 related.

As I wrote in my first posting, it cant be a DNS problem, since I can ping and traceroute without a problem.
I dont think it is IPV6 related, since I did try to disable IPV6 - that didnt help.
Can someone else with fedora core 2 plz try to access the same site, it seems like it COULD be a strange problem at the host site.....the site is :
www.regnecentralen.dk

I tried it too, I can't access them not with mozilla nor with lynx. But this webchecker : http://www.fh-friedberg.de/webchecker.html says they are all right. Maybe it doesn't want to work with Linux? Have someone a faked browser identification and can test this?
