Hi All,
I have a Dell Inspiron 9300, about 3 years old. Ive recently installed Fedora Core 10 on it, and its awesome (writing from it!).
One strange issue - On bootup I can hear the audio click loudly (sounds bad) on the first blue/white page (blue/light blue/white startup). Sounds like an amplifier getting shorted out!
Now thats not too bad, but what I noticed is that IF I boot up on battery only (no direct power), when it gets to the same point, the entire laptop dies. As in, powers off immediately. I have to remove the battery to get it back on.
If I plug in the power, it will boot fine, and audibly click at the same point of boot.
The battery is brand new (although NOT OEM) and it was about 75% charged when I did this. Ive never seen this before with Windoze. The battery works flawlessly (otherwise).
Any ideas? Should I try and update the audio driver, the default FC10 audio is working fine though.
Anyone else done a FC10 upgrade on a Dell Inspiron 9300 ?
Pretty stoked with the FC10 release...
cheers,
Devster
