Desktop doesn't appear in LXDE on startup

When I start LXDE on a fresh installation of Fedora 11, I get an error message that says:

Code:
Error: Unable to establish connection with FAM

Do you have "FAM" or "Gamin" installed and running?
This results in PCManFM not starting, resulting in no desktop icons. Starting PCManFM manually will bring them back only for the session. Logging in again will result in the same problem.

I had to yum -y groupinstall LXDE in my fresh F11 install to even SEE lxde as an option.
