Will The Sims 2 run with Wine?

I'm debating between trying to hunt down my Disk 1 of Sims 2 or giving my Seasons expansion pack to a friend. I have no idea where the disk is, but if the game will install and work with Wine, I plan to do my best to find it. I don't want to look for it if it won't work, so does anybody know if it will?

No, the game doesn't work with wine nor virtualbox.

See in google with the words "sims 2 wine" and "sims 2 virtualbox", no quotes of course. BTW: Google is your friend.
The problem is the support to Direct3D i think.

I'll bet, if you had a quad core processor with 4 gigs of ram and a killer video card, VB would run Sims. But no, Sims is design to run on systems with 2 cores and more than a gig of Ram for good results. VB splits the machine up so much that is severely cripples any performance from the guest OS.
