SPDIF output missing after upgrading to F11

Help me out here guys. I'm completely baffled by this. In F10, I have everything set up as I like it. The PC is a HTPC and the audio output is using the SPDIF out. I use pulseaudio and alsa interchangeably in this setup. Alsa for spdif passthrough and pulse for everything else.

After I upgraded to F11, the SPDIF part is missing completely. Here are the lspci and aplay result:
Code:

Now, according to /proc/asound/devices, the digital output is there. But how do I get it to show? I tried pavucontrol, even hacking /etc/pulse/default.pa, but nothing works.
Code:
# cat /proc/asound/devices

Replying to myself here. So I looked into /etc/asound.state and indeed, there is no IEC958 channel/switch specified. So I grabbed a asound.state with IEC958 and do alsactl restore, still no luck aplay -l still doesn't list any digital device.

Does anyone else experience this? Another thing I noticed is that it used to be ALC888 and now it's ALC1200.
