Post How is your F12 pre-Beta?

It is starting to stabilize in VBox-3.0.4 in F11 Host..
Very slow to boot (9 min+)
VBox bombs off if I run it to hard.

Windows share(truncats on copy from share) and printing (can't resolve correct ip for windows with dhcp for local VB, tried to use the VM's ip.

mkinitrd stills needs to re-build the img after kernel install. I'm not using dracut.

SSL shh much more stable for sftp through VM to Host.

openoffice.org-3.1.0-19-5 woks ok.

EXT4, LVM SELinux works ok

To the tune of the old rap song, Milkshake

D**n right, it's betta than yours,
Boots up, in a minute or so
Seg faults sometimes but doesn't go slow"

Seriously, there are certainly issues, but the boot up is OK. Installation is still an issue till they fix up the boot and net iso's--that should be really soon, I think. Hrrm, aside from that, nothing really major for me--oh, like you (I think) I had to remove anaconda to do some upgrade or another.

Sound works, X works, wireless works, Japanese works. That's about all I've played with so far.

Oh, printing with hplip-3.9.8 only worked with a default type of installation--with my usual minimal installation, it wouldn't print, though installing from the hplip's site did work. I'd have to do severa installs to get enough of a pattern to file a bug better than, errm, it's not working right, "_) and as I said, seemed to be fine with default installation.

So, generally, printing and scanning should work with my HP all in one, at least.

I am in the middle of updating 2 F12 machines. One is a virtual machine on an F11 host. The other is on a Dell Inspiron 1100.

It took quite a bit to get the virtual machine started (learning curve on my part) plus the virtual box does not accept the fact that its machine is 64 bit and will not let me install the 64 bit version, soooooo I did get the 32 bit to install and am now doing the updates, some errors are preventing a wholesale update.

The dell was a mistake, I had been trying to put HML on it. All I got was a black screen, so I grabbed what I thought was my F11 dvd and started it up and the next thing I know I have F12 installing. I had a couple burps in the process, but they straightened out when I force powered the machine down and rebooted.

So, it is late and I left both machines running updates while I headed back to my trailer for a meal and sleep. I shall see how they do in the morning.
